This Privacy Policy explains how Pikacho (“Pikacho,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our websites and applications, including Shoutout and any other apps offered under pikacho.dev (collectively, the “Services”). All Pikacho apps share one account and one data-handling standard described here.

Who this applies to

Our Services are used by Shopify merchants and their teams. When you install a Pikacho app from the Shopify App Store or sign in at pikacho.dev, this policy governs how we treat your information. We are the data controller for account data and act as a data processor for store data you direct us to analyze.

Information we collect

• Account information — name, email address, and authentication identifiers used to sign in across Pikacho apps.
• Store & catalog data— with your authorization, we read data from your connected store (e.g. shop domain, product catalog, and category) needed to run an app's core function.
• Configuration you provide — competitor names, tracked keywords/prompts, and settings you enter into an app.
• Usage & device data — log data, IP address, browser type, and interactions, used to operate and improve the Services.

How we use information

• To provide and operate the app's core features.
• To run measurements you request — for example, generating prompts and querying third-party AI/search data providers to compute your share-of-voice.
• To secure the Services, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
• To communicate service updates and respond to support requests.

Third-party service providers

To deliver our Services we share the minimum necessary data with infrastructure and data providers, including hosting, an LLM gateway used for text generation and parsing, and search/AI-answer data providers used to measure citations. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We retain account and measurement data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you uninstall an app or close your account, we delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@pikacho.dev.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Services. We use limited analytics to understand product usage. We do not use cross-site advertising cookies.

Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, scoped access tokens, and server-side handling of all third-party API credentials — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and notify you of material incidents as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and where appropriate we will notify you in-app or by email.
